It is just not right. They sound like the speakers that come in your cheap TV. The only reason that I wrote this review is because people are spending so much money on them. These were installed in the theater room of my new house. If you like these speakers, do a little research and find something in the $20 price area that sounds the same and save money. You can hear the cabinents vibrate. I am pretty into stereo gear, and I have points of comparison. They are made of cheap plastic and weigh very little.
You can stop looking around.just go and buy yourself a set.you'll be pleased. They are compact enough to be placed and/or mounted in any type of room. Without question these little Bose Speakers are anything but little when it comes to sound. They are the perfect compliment to making my sound system a 5.1 theater of enjoyment.
I have a Bose center channel and a pioneer powered sub and I couldn't be happier with my sound. I now have 4 of these for my 5.1 set up and I absolutely love them. They sound fantastic and the price is pretty reasonible.
But add a powered subwoofer and lookout. Let the sub handle all the lows and let these babies carry all the mids and highs and your ears are in for a treat. I can't understand people who are bashing these speakers. I am using these as my "MAIN" speakers over the fireplace and I am also using them with a JBL 10" powered subwoofer and they sound amazing. Awesome for movies as well. They are what they are. If you plan on getting big sound out of them just by themselves, it's just not going to happen (not that they sound bad, but your just not going to get the bass).
These are excellent value and I am pleased with how they have worked out in my set up. These speakers sound much better than the original TV speakers, are hidden from view and the sound dispersion is great. I used these speakers to replace the original speakers that came with my Pioneer Elite Plasma (PRO 150FD). I needed a bookshelf speaker set that was non intrusive.
